As someone who’s daily won’t work quite right and has been that case for month, this is a great feeling that subsides about.... 13 day later

100% this. A lot. My DD is as reliable as a 230,000 mile beat-to-death Chrysler product, which means my “fun car” is my reliable car! Every time my old Cherokee won’t start, I’m both sad and happy.

I have several friends who have built race cars and also have separate, (mostly) unmolested daily drivers.

Otherway around for me. My daily is my “race car” (note emphasis) and my reliable car is the weekend car.
But, I GET IT!

For me it’s more like, “When your daily won’t start, but you have a reliable automatic in your garage, so you just stay home that night.”
